Super Bowl

Well we all had a good time last night...Super Bowl Sunday. The game fans were pretty tame..until the final few minutes! I knew the Steelers would win, though I kind of hoped the opposite would happen (not that I care too much either way unless the Cowboys are playing). Hannah had a fun time playing with her friends, and Becca was well behaved as usual. Thanks Kevin and Tammy for a fun night.

Kevin's Dads Funeral

It was a busy weekend with the funeral and burial ceremonies, but I'm glad it is over. I'm sure it must be hard for Kevin and his family to go through all this time but hopefully they can begin to heal and accept. Like Kevin said last night, "it's just hard to accept you will never see them again." I cannot imagine how hard it must be to lose a parent, I don't even like to think of it. Please keep Kevin and his family in your prayers.

The viewing was a bit an ordeal with Hannah. We had to be there at 1:00 and it began at 2:00...Hannah's nap is usually at 1 or 1:30 so she went into emotional, hyper mode. Than seeing her brothers show up made her more excited. So she was just running around, rolling across the floors and screaming in excitement a lot of the time. I felt terrible for the other mourners, but Kevin wanted us there with him. She wasn't too bad once the ceremony began because I pulled out the play-dough (other than laughing out loud at my play-dough castle...evidently it didn't meet her standards). By the end of it though I was exhausted from my wrestling with her and carrying Becca so Kevin could focus on his father and accepting the condolences. We made it through though, and we are back in our normal, busy schedule.

Happy New Year

In preparation for this new year, I appear to be looking backward into the lives of old friends that I haven't seen, and some hadn't thought of, in years. Collette, my sister, recommended I go onto facebook.com and check out some of our mutual friends from the church we grew up in. Finding myself curious I decided to check it out and was left with mixed emotions. How is it possible that I have friends, whose wedding I attended, have been married for 15 years or friends who have 7, yes 7, kids, or people like myself who have moved halfway across the country and lost all contact with past friends. Time goes by so quickly! I look at my children's faces, and though they are still very young, I wonder how on earth they are 6 months and nearly 3 years old?!? Wasn't it just yesterday that I got married with the hopes of having a family? With the passing of Kevin's father yesterday, I also look toward today with the hopes of making memories and enjoying the time that I have with my family and friends knowing how quickly time does go by.

I have never been one for resolutions...they are so easily broken and forgotten. And though I do hope to lose weight, grow in my relationship with the Lord, make some headway in my credit card debt, save more money for the future, have more fun...I think I will make a resolution to make the most of the moments I do share with my husband, my children, my family (whenever I do make it back down to Texas), and my friends. I hope to put aside my shyness and fears and open up to those around me and make more memories to take me into the future.

Christmas Day

We mainly took video on Christmas day, but here are some of the pictures of the girls with their gifts and all prettied up for Church.

Christmas Time for Two Little Girls

It was Christmas time for two little girls. One was excited and couldn't wait to open gifts, the other was too small to know what the excitement was about. Hannah, the oldest, loved all the running around and wrapping of gifts and decorations of the time.
She played in the snow and cried out to go sledding. Daddy takes her out to play because Mommy hates the cold weather.

Becca just smiled and enjoyed all the attention...she such a happy girl.

Aunt Collette gave them matching jammies, and don't they look cute? Hannah was so excited they matched and wouldn't let me take Becca to bed...she just wanted to snuggle and hold her.

Hannah made a gingerbread house, and so excited about the candies...in fact many got eaten even before touching the house.

Mommy baked sugar cookies with Cinderella. Cinderella loved to cut out the shapes and decorate with the coloring food markers...plus they make your mouth and tongue pretty colors!

All decked out in their Christmas sweaters we went to the church for holiday cookies and punch. Mommy and Becca played Mary and baby Jesus...Becca did a good job.

Becca

Since mom's package didn't arrive I ran by Old Navy after work and found a rat costume for $5...I used the body, but cut the top half off like a belly shirt and used that material to make a couple ears to put on the hat so she looked more like a mouse than a rat. I spent all in all about 5 minutes coming up with this outfit for her...It turned out pretty cute though I would have liked more time to make it look better. She was still adorable and thankfully slept like an angel most of the night so I could deal with Hannah and her fits (Hannah didn't get her nap that day, and there was just way too much noise and chaos for her to deal with).

Hannah

I only had time to send a hand full of pictures last night, and they all seemed to be of Hannah...so today we'll just take a look at the Big Sister Smoochy Bear Hannah & tomorrow will be Becca's day.

Hannah loves to help out and she was so excited to help make waffles, and mickey mouse shaped waffles taste the best!
Hannah the Kid
Here is the beautiful Cinderella...she looks so much more grown up for some reason in these pictures. For most of holloween night she went barefoot because the glass slippers stretched out and kept slipping off.
